Merry Christmas from Your DPT!
Our January 2023 Digital Presence Team update noted that our most visible activities were on Youtube and our Website. Since then, due in large part to the efforts of Lila Woodard, we now have an active presence on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. These Social Media sites are where folks expect to find vibrant organizations. Both when searching out and investigating them. In Information Technology, when we “keep the buses running on time” folks don’t see what happens behind the scenes. For your DPT, that includes the provision of a dedicated Adult Ed Window Room PC, replacing the Becker Booth soundboard, and the ongoing update of the software for the website, livestream, and network systems.
This summer, we were able to ease the opening of the More Mesa Childrens’ Center who required internet access to operate. So we extended our church network to their building while waiting for Cox Communications to provide service to MMCC.
We continue to have several projects in the queue. The most valuable of these for our social media outreach may be the creation of welcome, about and congregant video testimonials. At this stage, we should professionally produce these to present our best selves.
The DPT meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 7-8pm. If you have interest in attending, please contact a DPT member. And for a different perspective on our service, please consider participating one Sunday in the Becker Booth on slides and sound. You just need to push buttons at the proper time – there are only 6 of them. Samsun does a good job of making sure you don’t forget one. Ask me how I know 🙂
