St. Andrew’s Prayer Chain
Phyllis Kirkpatrick started the St. Andrews Prayer Chain, so long ago that I could not find the exact date. Phyllis (I called her “Auntie Phyllis”) was a very active member of St. Andrews. She passed away in 2009.
Lydia Swanson took the responsibility over from Phyllis in 2008. She has been dedicated and caring with this ministry.
The Prayer Chain is made of members that pray daily for those in need. Over the years I have asked for prayers for myself, my family and my friends. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. These prayer requests are kept confidential.
It is now time for Lydia to pass the baton to me. When I heard that Lydia needed to step back from this commitment, my first though was, we cannot lose the Prayer Chain. I then decided that it has been such an important resource over the years, that I should join the group and help with making sure we stay the vital group that these two women created and maintained.
Lydia will continue to oversee the library. She will also continue praying for all of us. We are blessed to have had her service for so many years.
If you are interested in joining our Prayer Chain, please contact me. We can never have too many prayers.
The pink prayer cards will now be collected by me. If you would like to contact me regarding needed prayers, please email me at: prayers@standrewspcusa.org.
I am grateful for this ministry. Hopefully, I will make “Auntie Phyllis” and Lydia proud.
Prayerfully,
Dana Monk
