Congregational Update – March 25, 2020
Dear St. Andrews Community
During these challenging times the St. Andrew’s congregation is working hard and creatively to maintain its fellowship connections throughout its entire congregation. This communication is meant to give you a simple update on what our congregation is doing as we adapt to the current situation.
Disciple Dog and I are working on our next message and sermon which will go out by Friday.
Deacon Flocks: Our deacons are staying in touch by phone or email with people in their “flocks,” particularly with anyone who is alone. You can contact the Deacon Co-Moderators, Barb Eschbach (email@example.com, 805-570-8523) or Edie Wells (firstname.lastname@example.org, 967-8122) if you have questions. Thank you Barb, Edie and the Deacons!
Easter Lilies: Ariel Bower has ordered 30 to be available during Holy Week. If you want to order a lily for your own house or for someone you know, you can print the order form by clicking on the following link , write a check to “Ariel Bowers,” and mail it and the completed order form to the church where it will be held. We are working out the details of either home delivery or having them picked up during office hours at the church in a way that will follow strict health guidelines. Thank you, Ariel!
Prayer Chain: Lydia Swanson is coordinating prayer requests with our prayer chain. You can contact her at email@example.com or 805-455-3654. Thank you, Lydia, and all of you in the prayer chain!
Church office, people without email: Nancy is staffing the office during our regular hours with guidelines about safe interactions. She will be printing and mailing out the email messages to those who don't have email so everyone is still connected. Thank you, Nancy!
One Great Hour of Sharing: You are encouraged to send your checks along with your monthly contributions to the church. For the fish boxes, you could bring them to the church during office hours starting April 7. There will be a collection box outside. They will then be handled appropriately by Mona. Thank you, Mona!
Men's Fellowship Group: The guys had their first Zoom meeting this past Tuesday and found it worked well. It will continue to meet via Zoom on Tuesdays at 8 AM. Please contact Tom Weisenberger at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to join. He can also coach you on making the Zoom connection, which is quite easy. Thank you, Tom!
Contact Update: Kirk and Scott are working to maintain the database of functioning email addresses for this type of bulk email communication. If you become aware of something that needs to be updated contact them directly. Thank you, Kirk and Scott!
Let us know if you have questions or suggestions about our current operational practices.
Thank you for being part of the Living Body of Christ for each other, our community and the world in this time and place.
If you have any questions, you can email me at email@example.com -- Steve
