St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church
Sunday Worship Service

Dear St. Andrew's Community and Friends:

In light of this week's events, I was led to the remarkable story in Acts 10 about a vision Peter had on a rooftop one day.  Initially, it seems to be about food.  But it ends up fundamentally reshaping the way he sees other people, which I feel is very relevant for what we are going through as a country at this time.  The message is called: "Please Listen to the Following Options, As Our Menu Has Changed."

Nancy Boger, our church secretary, is the reader.  Chris and Erin bring us the music.  We'll also be singing again the hymn created in response to the COVID pandemic, "When We Face An Unknown Future."  Disciple Dog and I will recount a story of how he has sampled the food offered to him by different friends in his life.

The adult study will continue the interesting discussion from last week exploring how we all have encountered issues of race in our lives.

Zoom links for coffee hour and adult education are below.

May God bless each of you, our community, our nation and our world as we experience dramatic events together.

Steve

Adult Education...

Sunday, June 21, 11:00 am:  A virtual ADULT EDUCATION

This Sunday we will continue our Adult Education Class “Waking up White and Finding Myself in the Story of Race" by Debbie Irving.  How do we understand our own racism and respond as Americans and as a community of faith to the on-going legacy of racism in our country and community?  The discussion is based on a study guide written by the 2016 Co-Moderators of the Presbyterian Church, the Reverends Denise Anderson and Jan Edmiston.  The Study Guide can be found by clicking on this study guide link.  We will be discussing Session Two of the Study Guide: What is Race?  The Guide contains readings from the book, so, we encourage you to join us for the class even if you don’t have the book.
